Al-Aadeyaat
The Galloppers (Al-Aadeyaat)
11 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Afternoon (Al-'Asr) before Bounty (Al-Kawthar)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
(I swear) by the snorting chargers (of the warriors), whose hoofs strike against the rocks 1 then raise sparks of fire (by their hoofs), 2 Then those charging in the morning 3 and leave behind a cloud of dust 4 Then penetrate to the centre of the enemy army. 5 Lo! man is an ingrate unto his Lord 6 And most surely he is a witness of that. 7 for, verily, to the love of wealth is he most ardently devoted. 8 ۞ Knoweth he not - when that which is in the graves shall be ransacked? 9 and the secrets of the hearts are laid bare (and examined)? 10 their Lord will examine his deeds? 11
True are the words of God the Almighty.
