Al-Aadeyaat
The Galloppers (Al-Aadeyaat)
11 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Afternoon (Al-'Asr) before Bounty (Al-Kawthar)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By oath of those that sprint, breathing heavily. (The horses used in Holy War.) 1 Then those striking sparks of fire, 2 And scouring to the raid at dawn, 3 and raising clouds of dust, 4 And penetrate forthwith into the midst (of the foe) en masse;- 5 The human being is certainly ungrateful to his Lord. 6 and surely he is a witness against that! 7 And indeed he loves wealth to the extreme. 8 ۞ But does he not know that when the contents of the graves are scattered 9 And the hearts' contents shall be brought into the open? 10 On that day their Lord surely knows all about them! 11
True are the words of God the Almighty.
