Al-Takaathur
Hoarding (Al-Takaathur)
8 verses, revealed in Mecca after Bounty (Al-Kawthar) before Charity (Al-Maa'oon)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
Greed for more and more distracted you [from God] 1 Until you visit the graves (i.e. till you die). 2 No indeed; but soon you shall know. 3 Again, no indeed; but soon you shall know. 4 Indeed, did you know with certain knowledge 5 you would indeed, most surely, behold the blazing fire [of hell]! 6 Aye, ye will behold it with sure vision. 7 Then, on that day, you will surely be questioned regarding the favours. 8
True are the words of God the Almighty.
