Al-Hummazah

The Backbiter (Al-Hummazah)

9 verses, revealed in Mecca after Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah) before Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)

In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful

Woe to every fault-finding backbiter; 1 who amasses wealth and counts it, 2 He thinks that his wealth will immortalise him forever. 3 By no means. He will be thrown into Hutama. 4 Would that you understood what that crushing torment is like. 5 (It is) the fire of Allah, kindled, 6 which will rise over the [guilty] hearts: 7 Verily it will close in upon them, 8 In pillars stretched forth (i.e. they will be punished in the Fire with pillars, etc.). 9

God the Almighty always says the truth.
