The Backbiter (Al-Hummazah)
9 verses, revealed in Mecca after Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah) before Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
Woe to every slanderer and backbiter. 1 who amasses wealth and counts it over and again. 2 thinking his wealth will render him immortal! 3 Nay! he shall most certainly be hurled into the crushing disaster, 4 And what will explain to thee That which Breaks to Pieces? 5 (It is) the kindled Fire of Allah, 6 Which leapeth up over the hearts (of men). 7 Verily it shall close upon them, 8 In extended columns. 9
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
End of Surah: The Backbiter (Al-Hummazah). Sent down in Mecca after Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah) before Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
