The Backbiter (Al-Hummazah)

9 verses, revealed in Mecca after Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah) before Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)

In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful

Woe to every fault-finding backbiter; 1 who amasses wealth and counts it over and again. 2 thinking his riches have made him immortal! 3 Nay, he shall be thrown into the Crusher. 4 And what will explain to thee That which Breaks to Pieces? 5 It is the Fire kindled by Allah, 6 Reaching right into the hearts of men, 7 verily, it will close in upon them 8 In extending columns. 9

True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
