The Backbiter (Al-Hummazah)
9 verses, revealed in Mecca after Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah) before Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
WOE TO EVERY slanderer, back-biter, 1 Who collects wealth and [continuously] counts it. 2 Does he think that his wealth will prolong his stay on earth forever? 3 By no means! He will be sure to be thrown into That which Breaks to Pieces, 4 Would that you knew what hutamah is! 5 (It is) the kindled Fire of Allah, 6 which will rise over the [guilty] hearts: 7 It shall be made into a vault over them, 8 In pillars stretched forth. 9
God Almighty has spoken the truth.
