The Backbiter (Al-Hummazah)

9 verses, revealed in Mecca after Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah) before Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)

In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful

Woe to every slanderer and backbiter. 1 [Woe unto him who amasses wealth and counts it a safeguard, 2 Does he think his wealth will abide for ever with him? 3 Nay, but verily he will be flung to the Consuming One. 4 And what do you know what the Crusher is? 5 It is a Fire kindled by God. 6 Which mounts directed at the hearts. 7 covered down upon them, 8 in its long columns of flames. 9
