The Backbiter (Al-Hummazah)

9 verses, revealed in Mecca after Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah) before Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)

In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful

Woe to every scorner and mocker 1 who amasses wealth and counts it, 2 thinking his riches have made him immortal! 3 No! He will surely be thrown into the Crusher. 4 And what will explain to thee That which Breaks to Pieces? 5 It is the fire kindled by God 6 The which doth mount (Right) to the Hearts: 7 (And) vaults them over 8 in towering columns. 9

True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
