The Backbiter (Al-Hummazah)

9 verses, revealed in Mecca after Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah) before Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)

In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful

Woe to every (kind of) scandal-monger and-backbiter, 1 [Woe unto him who amasses wealth and counts it a safeguard, 2 He thinks that his wealth will make him immortal. 3 Nay, but verily he will be flung to the Consuming One. 4 And what have you understood what the Crushing One is! 5 It is the fire kindled by God 6 roaring over the hearts 7 It shall be made into a vault over them, 8 In pillars stretched forth (i.e. they will be punished in the Fire with pillars, etc.). 9

God Almighty has spoken the truth.
