O you who have believed, do not consume usury, doubled and multiplied, but fear Allah that you may be successful. 130 And have fear of the Fire which awaits those who deny the Truth. 131 And obey Allah and the Messenger, that you may be shown mercy. And hasten to the for-giveness of your Lord and to a Paradise as vast as the heavens and the earth, prepared for the God-fearing who spend in the way of Allah both in plenty and hardship, who restrain their anger, and forgive others. Go about, then, in the land and behold the end of those who gave the lie to (the directives and ordinances of Allah). 137 this [should be] a clear lesson unto all men, and a guidance and an admonition unto the God-conscious. 138 Faint not, neither sorrow; you shall be the upper ones if you are believers. 139 If there hath befallen you a sore, a sore like thereunto hath already befallen that people. These are the haps that We change about among mankind, that Allah may know those who believe and may take martyrs from among you; and Allah loveth not the wrong doers. 140 and so that Allah will examine those who believe and efface the unbelievers. 141 Do you suppose that you would enter the Garden, without God knowing those among you who would strive hard for His cause and endure with fortitude? 142 You were longing for death, before you met it.
