O you who believe! Eat not Riba (usury) doubled and multiplied, but fear Allah that you may be successful. 130 Save yourselves from the fire which is prepared for the unbelievers. 131 And obey Allah and the Noble Messenger, hoping that you gain mercy. (Obeying the Prophet is in fact obeying Allah.) 132 ۞ And hasten to the for-giveness of your Lord and to a Paradise as vast as the heavens and the earth, prepared for the God-fearing. 133 who spend in prosperity and in adversity, for those who curb their anger and those who forgive people. And Allah loves the charitable 134 who, when they commit an indecency or wrong themselves, remember God, and pray forgiveness for their sins -- and who shall forgive sins but God? -- and do not persevere in the things they did and that wittingly. 135 Those -- their recompense is forgiveness from their Lord, and gardens beneath which rivers flow, therein dwelling forever; and how excellent is the wage of those who labour! 136 Many similar ways (and mishaps of life) were faced by nations (believers and disbelievers) that have passed away before you (as you have faced in the battle of Uhud), so travel through the earth, and see what was the end of those who disbelieved (in the Oneness of Allah, and disobeyed Him and His Messengers). 137 This [Qur'an] is a clear statement to [all] the people and a guidance and instruction for those conscious of Allah. 138 Do not, then, either lose heart or grieve: for you shall surely gain the upper hand if you are true men of faith. 139 If a wound should touch you - there has already touched the [opposing] people a wound similar to it. And these days [of varying conditions] We alternate among the people so that Allah may make evident those who believe and [may] take to Himself from among you martyrs - and Allah does not like the wrongdoers - 140 And so that Allah may purify* the believers, and destroy the disbelievers. (* Forgive them their sins, if any.) 141 Do you think that you will enter the garden while Allah has not yet known those who strive hard from among you, and (He has not) known the patient. 142 You were longing for death before you met it; now you have seen it, while you were beholding. 143
