O ye who believe! Devour not usury, doubling and quadrupling (the sum lent). Observe your duty to Allah, that ye may be successful. 130 And ward off (from yourselves) the Fire prepared for disbelievers. 131 and obey God and the Messenger, so that you may be given mercy. 132 ۞ And march forth in the way (which leads to) forgiveness from your Lord, and for Paradise as wide as are the heavens and the earth, prepared for Al-Muttaqun (the pious - see V. 2:2). 133 who spend in the way of Allah both in plenty and hardship, who restrain their anger, and forgive others. Allah loves such good-doers." 134 (Paradise) is also for those who, when committing a sin or doing injustice to themselves, remember God and ask Him to forgive their sins. Who can forgive sins besides God? And who do not knowingly persist in their mistakes? 135 Those! their meed is forgiveness from their Lord and Gardens whereunder rivers flow; they shall be abiders therein. Excellent is the hire of the workers! 136 There have been examples before you. Journey in the land and see what was the fate of the liars. 137 This is a clear statement for men, and a guidance and an admonition to those who guard (against evil). 138 Be not, then, faint of heart, and grieve not: for you are bound to rise high if you are [truly] believers. 139 if you have suffered a wound, they too have suffered a similar wound. We bring these days to men by turns, so that God may know those who believe, and choose witnesses from among you; and God does not love the unjust, 140 And that Allah may purify the believers [through trials] and destroy the disbelievers. 141 Or, deem ye that ye shall enter the Garden while yet Allah hath not known those of you who have striven hard nor yet known the steadfast! 142 You had wished to know death before you faced it (in battle); so now you have seen it before your own eyes. 143
