Believers, do not devour usury multiplied many times over. Fear God, so that you may prosper, 130 And ward off (from yourselves) the Fire prepared for disbelievers. 131 and obey God and the Messenger, so that you may be given mercy. 132 ۞ Be quick in the race for forgiveness from your Lord, and for a Garden whose width is that (of the whole) of the heavens and of the earth, prepared for the righteous,- 133 who spend in prosperity and in adversity, for those who curb their anger and those who forgive people. And Allah loves the charitable 134 And those who, when they commit an immoral act or wrong themselves, remember Allah and seek forgiveness of their sins and who forgives sins except Allah? And those who do not purposely become stubborn regarding what they did. 135 These it is who shall have as their reward forgiveness from their Sustainer, and gardens through which running waters flow, therein to abide: and how excellent a reward for those who labour! 136 There are many examples [of the communities] that have passed away before you: travel through the land, and see what was the end of those who rejected the Truth. 137 This is an exposition for mankind, and a guidance, and an admonition for such as are godfearing. 138 Faint not, neither sorrow; you shall be the upper ones if you are believers. 139 If you have been wounded they too have suffered a wound. We cause this alternation of night and day in the affairs of men so that God may know those who believe, taking some as witness (of truth) from your ranks, for God does not like those who are unjust. 140 And that Allah may purge those who believe and destroy the infidels. 141 Do you think that you could enter paradise unless God takes cognizance of your having striven hard [in His cause,] and takes cognizance of your having been patient in adversity? 142 You had wished to know death before you faced it (in battle); so now you have seen it before your own eyes. 143
