O YOU who have attained to faith! Do not gorge yourselves on usury, doubling and re-doubling it - but remain conscious of God, so that you might attain to a happy state; 130 And save yourselves from the fire which is prepared for disbelievers. 131 And obey Allah and the Apostle, that you may be shown mercy. 132 ۞ And rush towards forgiveness from your Lord, and towards a Paradise that can hold all the heavens and the earth in its width – prepared for the pious. 133 Those who spend (benevolently) in ease as well as in straitness, and those who restrain (their) anger and pardon men; and Allah loves the doers of good (to others). 134 And those who, when they have committed Fahishah (illegal sexual intercourse etc.) or wronged themselves with evil, remember Allah and ask forgiveness for their sins; - and none can forgive sins but Allah - And do not persist in what (wrong) they have done, while they know. 135 Their recompense is pardon by their Lord, and gardens with streams of running water where they will abide for ever. How fair is the recompense of those who act! 136 Different traditions existed in the past. Travel in the land and find out about the fate of those who rejected the Truth. 137 This is a clear statement for men, and a guidance and an admonition to those who guard (against evil). 138 And faint not, nor grieve; ye shall overcome, if ye are believers. 139 If a wound touches you, a like wound already has touched the heathen; such days We deal out in turn among men, and that God may know who are the believers, and that He may take witnesses from among you; and God loves not the evildoers; 140 and so that Allah will examine those who believe and efface the unbelievers. 141 Do you suppose that you would enter the Garden, without God knowing those among you who would strive hard for His cause and endure with fortitude? 142 You did indeed wish for death (Ash-Shahadah - martyrdom) before you met it. Now you have seen it openly with your own eyes. 143
