Charity (Al-Maa'oon)

7 verses, revealed in Mecca after Hoarding (Al-Takaathur) before The Disbelievers (Al-Kaaferoon)

In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful

HAST THOU ever considered [the kind of man] who gives the lie to all moral law? 1 Then such is the (man) who repulses the orphan (with harshness), 2 and feels no urge to feed the needy. 3 Woe to those who pray 4 but are heedless in their Prayers, 5 Those who make a display (of their deeds). 6 And withhold things of common use (from others). 7

God Almighty has spoken the truth.
