Thorns (Al-Masad)

5 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Key (Al-Faatehah) before The Rolling (Al-Takweer)

In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate

May the hands of Abu Lahab perish! May he too perish! 1 His wealth and his children (etc.) will not benefit him! 2 Burnt soon will he be in a Fire of Blazing Flame! 3 And his wife too, who carries wood (thorns of Sadan which she used to put on the way of the Prophet (Peace be upon him), or use to slander him). 4 upon her neck shall be a rope of palm-fibre. 5

Allah the Almighty always says the truth.
