Thorns (Al-Masad)

5 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Key (Al-Faatehah) before The Rolling (Al-Takweer)

In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful

Perish the hands of Abu Lahab, and perish he! 1 His substance availed him not, nor that which he earned. 2 [In the life to come] he shall have to endure a fire fiercely glowing; 3 together with his wife, that carrier of evil tales, 4 Around her neck will be a rope of palm fibre. 5

True are the words of God the Almighty.
