Does it not guide the people who inherit the land from former people that We can punish them for their sins if We will? And seal up their hearts so that they would not be able to lend an ear to words of guidance? 100 We have told you the stories of those towns: their messengers came to them with clear signs, but they were never going to believe in something they had already rejected. Thus God seals up the hearts of those who deny the truth. 101 We did not find most of them true to their covenants; indeed We found most of them to be transgressors. 102 Then after them We sent Musa (Moses) with Our Signs to Fir'aun (Pharaoh) and his chiefs, but they wrongfully rejected them. So see how was the end of the Mufsidun (mischief-makers, corrupts, etc.). 103 And Moses said, "O Pharaoh, I am a messenger from the Lord of the worlds 104 (I am) worthy of not saying anything about Allah except the truth: I have come to you indeed with clear proof from your Lord, therefore send with me the children of Israel 105 He answered: 'If you have come with a sign, show it to us if you are of the truthful' 106 So he threw his rod, then lo! it was a clear serpent. 107 And he drew out his hand; thereupon it was white [with radiance] for the observers. 108
