Said the eminent among the people of Pharaoh, "Indeed, this is a learned magician 109 He intends to turn you out of your land. What counsel do you then give? 110 They said (unto Pharaoh): Put him off (a while) - him and his brother - and send into the cities summoners, 111 "That they bring up to you all well-versed sorcerers." 112 And the wizards came to Pharaoh, saying: Surely there will be a reward for us if we are victors. 113 Answered [Pharaoh]: "Yes; and verily, you shall be among those who are near unto me." 114 They said, “O Moosa! You may throw first – or shall we be the first to throw?” 115 Moses said: 'You throw.' So when they threw [their rods], they enchanted the eyes of the people, and struck them with awe, and produced a mighty sorcery. 116 Then We directed Moses: 'Now you throw your rod.' And lo! it swallowed up all their false devices. 117 ۞ Thus the Truth prevailed and their false art was banished. 118 Thus they were overcome and made to look abject. 119 and the magicians flung themselves prostrate, 120 They said, “We have accepted faith in the Lord Of The Creation.” 121 “The Lord of Moosa and Haroon.” 122 Fir'aun (Pharaoh) said: "You have believed in him [Musa (Moses)] before I give you permission. Surely, this is a plot which you have plotted in the city to drive out its people, but you shall come to know. 123 I will certainly cut off your hands and your feet on opposite sides, then will I crucify you all together. 124 They replied, "We shall surely return to our Lord. 125 "The only reason you have to hate us is that we believed in the signs of our Lord as they came to us. O our Lord, give us sufficient endurance that we may die submitting (to You)." 126
