111 verses, revealed in Mecca after Hood (Hood) before The Hijjr Valley (Al-Hijjr)

In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful

Alif, Lam, Ra. These are the verses of the clear Book. 1 behold, We have bestowed it from on high as a discourse in the Arabic tongue, so that you might encompass it with your reason. 2 We relate to you the best narrative because We have sent the divine revelation of this Qur’an, to you; although surely you were unaware before this. 3 Call to mind when Joseph said to his father: "My father! I saw (in a dream) eleven stars and the sun and the moon: I saw them prostrating themselves before me." 4 Said (the father): "My (dear) little son! relate not thy vision to thy brothers, lest they concoct a plot against thee: for Satan is to man an avowed enemy! 5 "Thus will your Lord choose you and teach you the interpretation of dreams (and other things) and perfect His Favour on you and on the offspring of Ya'qub (Jacob), as He perfected it on your fathers, Ibrahim (Abraham) and Ishaque (Isaac) aforetime! Verily, your Lord is All-Knowing, All-Wise." 6
