AND [one day] the King said: Behold, I saw [in a dream] seven fat cows being devoured by seven emaciated ones, and seven green ears [of wheat] next to [seven] others that were withered. O you nobles! Enlighten me about [the meaning of] my dream, if you are able to interpret dreams!" 43 They said: "Mixed up false dreams and we are not skilled in the interpretation of dreams." 44 And of the two (prisoners) he who had found deliverance and remembered after a long time said: I will inform you of its interpretation, so let me go: 45 Yusuf, O saint! give an answer unto us in regard to seven fat kine which seven lean ones are devouring and seven green corn-ears and seven others dry; haply I may return unto the people; haply they may learn. 46 He said: "Sow as usual for seven years, and after reaping leave the corn in the ears, except the little you need for food. 47 "Then will come after that, seven hard (years), which will devour what you have laid by in advance for them, (all) except a little of that which you have guarded (stored). 48 Then a year will come after that when people will have abundant rain and when once more they will press [wine and oil]." 49
