Do not think Allah is heedless of the evil deeds in which the evil-doers are engaged. He is merely granting them respite until a Day when their eyes shall continue to stare in horror, 42 As they come hurrying on in fear, their heads upraised, their gaze returning not to them, and their hearts as air. 43 And warn the people of a day when the punishment will come upon them, therefore the unjust will say, “O our Lord! Give us respite for a little while – for us to obey Your call and follow the Noble Messengers”; (It will be said) “So had you not sworn before that, ‘We have not to move to any place else from the earth’?” 44 "And you dwelt in the dwellings of men who wronged themselves, and it was clear to you how We had dealt with them. And We put forth (many) parables for you." 45 And they had planned their plan, but with Allah is [recorded] their plan, even if their plan had been [sufficient] to do away with the mountains. 46 So think not that Allah will fail to keep His Promise to His Messengers. Certainly, Allah is All-Mighty, - All-Able of Retribution. 47 The day when the earth will he replaced by some other than the earth, as will be the skies, and every one will appear before God the one and omnipotent, 48 On that Day you shall see the guilty ones secured in chains; 49 Their shirts made of pitch and the fire covering their faces 50 That God may reward each soul for its deeds. Indeed God is swift at reckoning! 51 THIS IS A MESSAGE unto all mankind. Hence, let them be warned thereby, and let them know that He is the One and Only God; and let those who are endowed with insight take this to heart! 52
