Indeed We created man from sounding clay made out of black smelly mud. 26 and the jinn We had created before from flaming fire. 27 But when your Lord said to the angels: "I am verily going to create a human being from fermented clay dried tingling hard; 28 Then when I have formed him and breathed into him of My Spirit fall down unto him prostrate. 29 All the angels prostrated themselves, 30 But Satan did not; he refused to join those who prostrated themselves. 31 Allah said: O Iblis! what aileth thou that thou art not with the prostrates? 32 Iblis replied, "I did not want to prostrate before a human being whom You have created out of mud-moulded clay". 33 He said: Then go thou forth from hence, for lo! thou art outcast. 34 And surely on you is curse until the day of judgment. 35 Said [Iblis]: "Then, O my Sustainer, grant me a respite till the Day when all shall be raised from the dead!" 36 "You are among the reprieved," (said the Lord), 37 for an appointed time." 38 He said: My Lord! because Thou hast made life evil to me, I will certainly make (evil) fair-seeming to them on earth, and I will certainly cause them all to deviate 39 except for Your chosen servants." 40 God said, "This is the path which leads straight to Me. 41 Surely, as regards My servants, you have no authority, over them except those who follow you of the deviators. 42 And verily Hell is the place promised unto them all. 43 Which has several gates, and each gate is marked for every section of them." 44
