And certainly We created man of clay that gives forth sound, of black mud fashioned in shape. 26 And the jinn did We create aforetime of essential fire. 27 And (remember) when your Lord said to the angels: "I am going to create a man (Adam) from sounding clay of altered black smooth mud. 28 When I have formed him and breathed My spirit into him, fall down in prostration before him," 29 So the angels made obeisance, all of them together, 30 Except Iblees, he refused to be with those who prostrated. 31 He said: 'iblis, what is the matter with you, that you do you not prostrate yourself' 32 (Iblis) said: "I am not one to prostrate myself to man, whom Thou didst create from sounding clay, from mud moulded into shape." 33 (Allah) said: 'Begone, you are accursed! 34 Upon thee shall rest the curse, till the Day of Doom.' 35 He said: My Lord! Reprieve me till the day when they are raised. 36 Said He, 'Thou art among the ones that are respited 37 Till the Day of the Time known. 38 He said, “My Lord! I swear by the fact that You sent me astray, I shall distract them in the earth, and I shall lead all of them astray.” 39 excepting those Thy servants among them that are devoted. 40 Said He: "This is, with Me, a straight way: 41 Indeed, My servants - no authority will you have over them, except those who follow you of the deviators. 42 And verily, Hell is the promised abode for them all! 43 To it are seven gates: for each of those gates is a (special) class (of sinners) assigned. 44

When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
