AND, INDEED, We have created man out of sounding clay, out of dark-slime transmuted 26 and before him We created the jinn from smokeless fire. 27 And (remember) when thy Lord said unto the angels: Lo! I am creating a mortal out of potter's clay of black mud altered, 28 When it is properly shaped and I have blown My Spirit into it, you should then bow down in prostration". 29 The angels bowed in homage in a body 30 except Iblis; he refused to join those who prostrated. 31 He said: O Iblis! what excuse have you that you are not with those who make obeisance? 32 Iblis replied, "I did not want to prostrate before a human being whom You have created out of mud-moulded clay". 33 (Allah) said: 'Begone, you are accursed! 34 And lo! the curse shall be upon thee till the Day of Judgment. 35 He said: My Lord! Reprieve me till the day when they are raised. 36 Allah said: "Then, verily, you are of those reprieved, 37 till the appointed time. 38 [Iblis (Satan)] said: "O my Lord! Because you misled me, I shall indeed adorn the path of error for them (mankind) on the earth, and I shall mislead them all. 39 except the devoted amongst Your worshippers. 40 Allah said: this is the path leading unto Me straight. 41 Indeed, My servants - no authority will you have over them, except those who follow you of the deviators. 42 Surely Hell is the promised place for all of them." 43 "It (Hell) has seven gates, for each of those gates is a (special) class (of sinners) assigned. 44
