VERILY, those who are conscious of God [shall find themselves in the hereafter] amidst gardens and springs, 45 [having been received with the greeting,] "Enter here in peace, secure!" 46 And We shall purge their breasts of all traces of rancour; and they shall be seated on couches facing one another as brothers. 47 no fatigue there shall smite them, neither shall they ever be driven forth from there. 48 ۞ Tell My servants I am the All-forgiving, the All-compassionate, 49 and that My punishment is a painful one. 50 And tell them of the guests of Abraham, 51 [how,] when they presented themselves before him and bade him peace, he answered: "Behold, we are afraid of you!" 52 They (the angels) said: "Do not be afraid! We give you glad tidings of a boy (son) possessing much knowledge and wisdom." 53 He said: Bring ye me good tidings (of a son) when old age hath overtaken me? Of what then can ye bring good tidings? 54 They said, "We have, indeed, given you glad tidings in truth; do not therefore despair." 55 He said: And who despaireth of the mercy of his Lord save those who are astray? 56 [Abraham] said, "Then what is your business [here], O messengers?" 57 "We have been sent," they said, "to (punish) a sinful people, 58 excepting the folk of Lot; them we shall deliver 59 “Except his wife – we have decided that she is of those who will stay behind.” 60
