So when the apostles came to Lut's followers, 61 He said: verily ye are a people stranger. 62 "We have come to you with news," they said, "of what your people doubt; 63 "And we have brought to you the truth (the news of the destruction of your nation) and certainly, we tell the truth. 64 So set out thou with thy house hold in a portion of the night, and follow thou their backs, and let not one of you look back, and pass whither ye are commanded. 65 And We made known this decree to him, that the root of those (sinners) was to be cut off in the early morning. 66 The people of the city came to him rejoicing. 67 He said: verily these are my guests, so disgrace me not. 68 Fear Allah and do not disgrace me' 69 "Did we not restrain you," they said, "from entertaining creatures from the outside world?" 70 He said, "Here are my daughters, if you must act in this way." 71 By your life, [O Muhammad], indeed they were, in their intoxication, wandering blindly. 72 Then the (Awful) Cry overtook them at the sunrise. 73 We turned the town upside down and rained upon them stones of clay. 74 Herein are really signs for those who discern. 75 And indeed that township is upon a road still in use. 76 Lo! therein is indeed a portent for believers. 77 And indeed the Dwellers of the Woods were unjust. 78 So we took vengeance on them; and lo! they both are on a high-road plain to see. 79
