Then when the sent ones entered unto the household of Lut. 61 He said, “You are an unfamiliar people.” 62 They said: "Yea, we have come to thee to accomplish that of which they doubt. 63 We bring you the truth, and indeed we are truthful. 64 Go, then, with thy household while it is yet night, with thyself following them in the rear; and let none of you look back, but proceed whither you are bidden." 65 And We made known this decree to him, that the last remnants of those (sinners) should be cut off by the morning. 66 The inhabitants of the city came in (mad) joy (at news of the young men). 67 He said: Lo! they are my guests. Affront me not! 68 And fear Allah and do not disgrace me." 69 "Did we not restrain you," they said, "from (entertaining) creatures from the outside world?" 70 He said: Here are my daughters, if ye must be doing (so). 71 By your life, (O Prophet), they went about blindly stumbling in their intoxication. 72 So they were seized by the mighty blast at break of day; 73 And We turned (the cities) upside down, and rained down on them brimstones hard as baked clay. 74 There are certainly signs in that for those who can learn a lesson -- 75 And indeed, those cities are [situated] on an established road. 76 In this there is evidence (of the Truth) for the believers. 77 And indeed the Dwellers of the Woods were unjust. 78 So We took vengeance on them. And verily both are on a high-road open. 79
