When the Messengers came to the family of Lot, 61 he said, "You seem to be strangers". 62 They said, 'Nay, but we have brought thee that concerning which they were doubting. 63 We truly tell you that we have brought to you the Truth. 64 So set out thou with thy house hold in a portion of the night, and follow thou their backs, and let not one of you look back, and pass whither ye are commanded. 65 We informed him that the unbelievers would be utterly destroyed. 66 And the people of the town came rejoicing. 67 He said: verily these are my guests, so disgrace me not. 68 Have fear of God and do not humiliate me". 69 They replied: "Did we not forbid you again and again to extend hospitality to all and sundry?" 70 He said, 'These are my daughters, if you would be doing.' 71 By your life, (O Prophet), they went about blindly stumbling in their intoxication. 72 Then the shout took hold of them at the sunrise. 73 And We made the upside there of downwards, and We rained on them stones of baked clay. 74 Indeed in this are signs for people who perceive. 75 surely it is on a way yet remaining; 76 Verily, herein lies a message indeed for all who believe [in God]. 77 And indeed the Dwellers of the Woods were unjust. 78 So we took vengeance on them; and lo! they both are on a high-road plain to see. 79
