And when the envoys came to the family of Lot, 61 He said: "You are people I do not know." 62 They said: "Yea, we have come to thee to accomplish that of which they doubt. 63 And we have brought unto thee the truth, and verily we say sooth. 64 Depart with your family in a part of the night and walk behind them and let none of you turn round. Go to a place where you are commanded' 65 And We made known this decree to him, that the last remnants of those (sinners) should be cut off by the morning. 66 And the people of the city came, rejoicing at the news (of new arrivals). 67 Exclaimed [Lot]: "Behold, these are my guests: so put me not to shame, 68 and fear God, and do not degrade me.' 69 They replied, "Did we not forbid you to bring anyone to your house?" 70 He said, "Here are my daughters, if you must act in this way." 71 By your life, they wandered blindly in their dazzlement. 72 An explosion struck them at sunrise. 73 And We utterly confounded them, and We rained upon them stones of heated clay. 74 In this there is evidence (of the Truth) for the prudent ones. 75 That town lies on a road which still exists. 76 surely in this there is a sign for those who believe. 77 And the Companions of the Wood were also wrong-doers; 78 We afflicted them with punishment. Both people had clear (divine) authority among them. 79
