T H (Taa Haa)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
۞ Ta, Ha. 1 We have not sent down the Qur'an to thee to be (an occasion) for thy distress, 2 but only as an exhortation for him who fears God; 3 a revelation from Him who created the earth and the high heavens; 4 the All-compassionate sat Himself upon the Throne; to Him belongs 5 His is whatsoever is in the heavens and whatsoever on the earth and whatsoever is in between and whatsoever is underneath the earth. 6 And if thou speakest aloud, then lo! He knoweth the secret (thought) and (that which is yet) more hidden. 7 Allah! There is no Allah save Him. His are the most beautiful names. 8 And has the story of Musa come to you? 9 When he saw a fire he said to his family: "You wait here. I have seen a fire. I may haply be able to bring an ember from it, or find direction by the fire." 10 But when he came close to it, a voice called out: "O Moses! 11 “Indeed I am your Lord, therefore take off your shoes; indeed you are in the holy valley of Tuwa!” 12 And I have chosen thee, so hearken unto that which is inspired. 13 "Verily! I am Allah! La ilaha illa Ana (none has the right to be worshipped but I), so worship Me, and perform As-Salat (Iqamat-as-Salat) for My Remembrance. 14 Lo! the Hour is surely coming. But I will to keep it hidden, that every soul may be rewarded for that which it striveth (to achieve). 15 Therefore let not him who believes not in it and follows his low desires turn you away from it so that you should perish; 16 And what is this in your right hand, O Musa! 17 'Why, it is my staff,' said Moses. 'I lean upon it, and with it I beat down leaves to feed my sheep; other uses also I find in it. 18 "Throw it down, O Moses," said (the Voice). 19 So he threw it down, and lo! it was a rapidly moving snake. 20 He said: Take hold of it and fear not; We will restore it to its former state: 21 Now, put your hand under your armpit. It shall come out white, without evil, a second sign. 22 "That We may show you (some) of Our Greater Signs. 23 Go to the Pharaoh as he has become exceedingly rebellious." 24
