T H (Taa Haa)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ TA HA. 1 We have not sent down the Qur'an to thee to be (an occasion) for thy distress, 2 But only as a reminder for those who fear [Allah] - 3 It is a sending down from Him who has created the earth, and the high heavens, 4 The Most Gracious Who, befitting His Majesty, took to the Throne (of control). 5 To Him only belongs all whatever is in the heavens and all whatever is in the earth, and all whatever is between them, and all whatever is beneath this wet soil. 6 If you speak loudly; He has indeed knowledge of the secret and the hidden. 7 Allah-- there is no god but He; His are the very best names. 8 (Muhammad), have you heard the story of Moses? 9 When he saw fire, he said to his family: Stop, for surely I see a fire, haply I may bring to you therefrom a live coal or find a guidance at the fire. 10 When he reached it, he was called: 'O Moses, 11 Verily, I am thy Sustainer! Take off, then, thy sandals! Behold, thou art in the twice hallowed valley, 12 And I have chosen you, so listen to what is revealed [to you]. 13 I Am the only God. Worship Me and be steadfast in prayer to have My name always in your mind. 14 "Verily, the Hour is coming and My Will is to keep it hidden that every person may be rewarded for that which he strives. 15 Therefore let not him who believes not in it and follows his low desires turn you away from it so that you should perish; 16 "And what is that in your right hand, O Musa (Moses)?" 17 He said, "It is my staff; I lean upon it, and I bring down leaves for my sheep and I have therein other uses." 18 (Allah) said: "Cast it down, O Musa (Moses)!" 19 He threw it, and behold! It was a snake, active in motion. 20 Then He said: "Seize it and have no fear. We shall restore it to its former state. 21 "Now draw thy hand close to thy side: It shall come forth white (and shining), without harm (or stain),- as another Sign,- 22 for We shall show you some of Our greatest Signs. 23 And go to Pharaoh now for he has transgressed all bounds." 24
