T H (Taa Haa)
135 verses, revealed in Mecca after Mary (Maryam) before The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ TaHa. 1 We did not reveal the Qur'an to you to cause you distress; 2 but only as an exhortation to all who stand in awe [of God]: 3 A revelation from He who created the earth and highest heavens, 4 The Most Merciful [who is] above the Throne established. 5 His is what is in the heavens and what is in the earth and what is between them two and what is beneath the ground. 6 And if thou speakest the word aloud, then verily He knoweth the secret and the most hidden. 7 God is the only Lord and to Him belong all the exalted Names. 8 AND HAS the story of Moses ever come within thy ken? 9 When he saw a fire and said to his family: "Hold on! I have just perceived a fire; perhaps I will bring a brand from it for you, or I will find some guidance at the fire about the way to follow." 10 So when he came near the fire, it was announced, “O Moosa!” 11 "O Moses, I am verily your Lord, so take off your shoes, for you are in the holy plain of Towa. 12 I have chosen you, so listen to what is revealed to you. 13 Verily I! I am Allah! no God there is but I; so worship Me, and establish prayer for My remembrance. 14 Verily the Hour (of the great change) is about to come. I keep it secret that every soul may be rewarded for its endeavour. 15 Hence, let not anyone who does not believe in its coming and follows [but] his own desires divert thee from [belief in] it, lest thou perish! 16 The Lord asked, "Moses, what is in your right hand?" 17 'Why, it is my staff,' said Moses. 'I lean upon it, and with it I beat down leaves to feed my sheep; other uses also I find in it. 18 "Throw it down, O Moses," said (the Voice). 19 So he cast it down, and lo! it was a serpent, gliding. 20 God said, "Take hold of it, and have no fear: We shall return it to its former state. 21 Put your hand under your armpit: it will come out [shining] white, without any blemish. This shall be another sign. 22 for We shall show you some of Our greatest Signs. 23 Go to Pharaoh; he has transgressed all bounds." 24
