In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ Ta-Ha. [These letters are one of the miracles of the Quran, and none but Allah (Alone) knows their meanings.] 1 We have not sent the Quran down to you to distress you, 2 But only as an admonition to those who fear (Allah),- 3 Sent down by One Who created the earth and the lofty heavens. 4 The Most Merciful [who is] above the Throne established. 5 His is what is in the heavens and what is in the earth and what is between them two and what is beneath the ground. 6 And if you utter the saying aloud, then surely He knows the secret, and what is yet more hidden. 7 Allah! there is no god but He! To Him belong the most Beautiful Names. 8 Has the story of Moses come to you? 9 When he saw fire, he said to his family: Stop, for surely I see a fire, haply I may bring to you therefrom a live coal or find a guidance at the fire. 10 When he approached it, a voice called out: 11 "O Moses, I am verily your Lord, so take off your shoes, for you are in the holy plain of Towa. 12 I Myself have chosen you; therefore, give ear to what is revealed. 13 Lo! I, even I, am Allah, There is no Allah save Me. So serve Me and establish worship for My remembrance. 14 The Hour is coming. But I choose to keep it hidden, so that every human being may be recompensed in accordance with his labours. 15 Do not let those who disbelieve in it and follow their desires bar you from it, or you will perish. 16 "What do you have in your right hand, Moses?" 17 He said, "It is my staff; I lean upon it, and I bring down leaves for my sheep and I have therein other uses." 18 [Allah] said, "Throw it down, O Moses." 19 He cast it down, and behold! It was a snake, moving quickly. 20 Allah said:"Grasp it, and fear not, We shall return it to its former state, 21 "Now draw thy hand close to thy side: It shall come forth white (and shining), without harm (or stain),- as another Sign,- 22 We shall show you some of Our greatest signs. 23 Go to Pharaoh, he has become insolent' 24

Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
