Said [Moses]: "O my Sustainer! Open up my heart [to Thy light,] 25 And make my affair easy to me, 26 Remove the defect of my tongue 27 that they may understand my speech. 28 And appoint for me a minister from my family - 29 Aaron, my brother. 30 Add Thou through him to my strength, 31 and let him share my task, 32 That we may exalt You much 33 And remember you a great deal. 34 Verily, Thou seest all that is within us!" 35 The Lord said, "Moses, your request is granted. 36 And certainly We bestowed on you a favor at another time; 37 Remember when We inspired your mother with a certain inspiration 38 to lace her child in a chest and throw it into the sea which would hurl it towards the shore. Then an enemy of Mine who was also the enemy of the child would pick it up from there. I made you attractive and loveable so that you would be reared before My own eyes. 39 When your sister went and said: Shall I direct you to one who will take charge of him? So We brought you back to your mother, that her eye might be cooled and she should not grieve and you killed a man, then We delivered you from the grief, and We tried you with (a severe) trying. Then you stayed for years among the people of Madyan; then you came hither as ordained, O Musa. 40 I have chosen thee for My service; 41 "Go you and your brother with My Ayat (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.), and do not, you both, slacken and become weak in My Remembrance. 42 Then go to the Pharaoh as he has become exceedingly rebellious. 43 yet speak gently to him, that haply he may be mindful, or perchance fear.' 44 They said: Our Lord! Lo! we fear that he may be beforehand with us or that he may play the tyrant. 45 He said: "Fear not: for I am with you: I hear and see (everything). 46 So go to him and say, 'Indeed, we are messengers of your Lord, so send with us the Children of Israel and do not torment them. We have come to you with a sign from your Lord. And peace will be upon he who follows the guidance. 47 It has been revealed to us that punishment will befall him who denies and turns away. 48 Pharaoh said, "Who then is the Lord of you both, Moses?" 49 He said, “Our Lord is One Who gave everything its proper shape, then showed the path.” 50 He then asked, "What do you know about the past generations?" 51 Moses said, "My Lord alone has knowledge of that, recorded in a Book. My Lord neither errs nor forgets." 52 HE IT IS who has made the earth a cradle for you, and has traced out for you ways [of livelihood] thereon, and [who] sends down waters from the sky: and by this means We bring forth various kinds of plants. 53 Eat and pasture your cattle; most surely there are signs in this for those endowed with understanding. 54
