The Prophets (Al-Anbyaa')
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ There hath approached unto mankind their reckoning, while they in neglect are turning away. 1 Whenever any fresh admonition comes to them from their Lord, they listen to it, but do not take it seriously; 2 their hearts are diverted. The harmdoers mutter to one another: 'Is this anything else but a human like yourself? What, will you follow sorcery with your eyes open' 3 Say: "My Lord knoweth (every) word (spoken) in the heavens and on earth: He is the One that heareth and knoweth (all things)." 4 Nay, they say:"These (revelations of the Quran which are inspired to Muhammad SAW) are mixed up false dreams! Nay, he has invented it! Nay, he is a poet! Let him then bring us an Ayah (sign as a proof) like the ones (Prophets) that were sent before (with signs)!" 5 Not one township that We destroyed before them believed. Would they, then, believe? 6 And We did not send (Prophets) before you except men, to whom We sent divine revelations – therefore, O people, ask the people of knowledge if you do not know. 7 We did not endow the Messengers with bodies that would need no food; nor were they immortals. 8 Then We fulfilled Our promise to them and We saved them and those with them whom We pleased, and We destroyed those who exceeded all bounds. 9 We have revealed for you (O men!) a book in which is a Message for you: will ye not then understand? 10
