The Believers (Al-Mu' minoon)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
۞ TRULY, to a happy state shall attain the believers: 1 those who are humble in their prayer; 2 who turn away from idle talk; 3 And those who pay the Zakat. 4 Who abstain from sex, 5 Except from their wives and women slaves of old are free of blame, 6 whereas such as seek to go beyond that [limit] are truly transgressors; 7 those who are faithful to their trusts and promises; 8 And those who strictly guard their (five compulsory congregational) Salawat (prayers) (at their fixed stated hours). 9 These are they who are the heirs, 10 that shall inherit Paradise; and in it they shall abide for ever. 11 We created man out of the extract of clay, 12 Then made him a drop of fluid in a secure shelter. 13 Then We made the sperm into a clot of congealed blood; then of that clot We made a (foetus) lump; then we made out of that lump bones and clothed the bones with flesh; then we developed out of it another creature. So blessed be Allah, the best to create! 14 Then after that you shall surely die, 15 then on the Day of Resurrection you shall surely be raised up. 16 And We created above you seven ways, and We were not heedless of creation. 17 We have sent a measure of water from the sky to stay on earth and We have the power to take it away. 18 Then We cause to grow thereby gardens of palm trees and grapes for you; you have in them many fruits and from them do you eat; 19 as well as a tree that issues from [the lands adjoining] Mount Sinai, yielding oil and relish for all to eat. 20 And indeed in the cattle is a lesson for you; We give you to drink what is in their bellies, and there are many benefits for you in them, and in them is your food. 21 and by them - as by the ships [over the sea] - you are borne [overland]. 22
