The Believers (Al-Mu' minoon)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
۞ The believers have indeed attained true success: 1 Those who offer their Salat (prayers) with all solemnity and full submissiveness. 2 And those who turn away from Al-Laghw (dirty, false, evil vain talk, falsehood, and all that Allah has forbidden). 3 who observe Zakah; 4 those who safeguard their chastity 5 except with their wives and what their right hand possess, and then they are not blamed. 6 So whoever desires more than these two – they are crossing the limits. 7 And those who of their trusts and covenant are keepers. 8 And who (strictly) guard their prayers;- 9 These are the heirs 10 Who will inherit Paradise, and live in it for ever. 11 We created man of an extraction of clay, 12 Then We placed him as a sperm in a firmly established lodging; 13 Then We made the Nutfah into a clot (a piece of thick coagulated blood), then We made the clot into a little lump of flesh, then We made out of that little lump of flesh bones, then We clothed the bones with flesh, and then We brought it forth as another creation. So blessed be Allah, the Best of creators. 14 Then after that, certainly all of you are to die. 15 and then on the Day of Resurrection you shall certainly be raised up. 16 And indeed We have created seven paths above you; and We are not unmindful of the creation. 17 We send down water from the sky in determined measure, and store it up in the earth; and We have power to drain it away. 18 And by means of this [water] We bring forth for you gardens of date-palms and vines, wherein you have fruit abundant and whereof you eat, 19 And a tree that grows out of Mount Sinai which produces oil and a condiment for those who eat. 20 And behold, in the cattle [too] there is indeed a lesson for you: We give you to drink of that [milk] which is within their bellies; and you derive many [other] uses from them: for, you eat of their flesh, 21 And on them, and on ships you are carried. 22
