The Believers (Al-Mu' minoon)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ Successful indeed are the believers. 1 those who are humble in their prayer; 2 And who shun vain conversation, 3 And they who are observant of zakah 4 those who safeguard their chastity 5 Save from their wives or the (slaves) that their right hands possess, for then they are not blameworthy, 6 And whosoever seeketh beyond that, then it is these who are the transgressors 7 and who preserve their trusts and their covenant 8 to their promise, 9 They are the inheritors. 10 Who shall inherit Paradise; therein they shall be abiders. 11 And certainly did We create man from an extract of clay. 12 Then We placed him as (a drop of) sperm in a place of rest, firmly fixed; 13 then We made this drop into a clot, then We made the clot into a lump, then We made the lump into bones, then We clothed the bones with flesh, and then We caused it to grow into another creation. Thus Most Blessed is Allah, the Best of all those that create. 14 Then after that, certainly all of you are to die. 15 and you will be brought back to life again on the Day of Resurrection. 16 And certainly We made above you seven heavens; and never are We heedless of creation. 17 And We sent down out of heaven water in measure and lodged it in the earth; and We are able to take it away. 18 So with it We produced gardens of date-palms and grapes for you, in which is abundant fruit for you and you eat therefrom. 19 And a tree that grows out of Mount Sinai which produces oil and a condiment for those who eat. 20 And behold, in the cattle [too] there is indeed a lesson for you: We give you to drink of that [milk] which is within their bellies; and you derive many [other] uses from them: for, you eat of their flesh, 21 And on them, as well as in ships, ye ride. 22
