“O Noble Messengers, eat good clean things, and do good deeds; I know all that you do.” 51 And verily this religion of yours is one religion, and I am your Lord, so fear Me. 52 But they split in their affair between them into sects, each party rejoicing in what is with them. 53 Therefore leave them in their overwhelming ignorance till 54 Do they think that in giving them wealth and children 55 We hasten unto them with good things? Nay, but they perceive not. 56 Verily those who for fear of their Lord are in awe. 57 And they who believe in the signs of their Lord 58 Those who join not (in worship) partners with their Lord; 59 And those who give that which they give with hearts afraid because they are about to return unto their Lord, 60 These hasten to good things and they are foremost in (attaining) them. 61 And We task not any soul except according to its capacity, and with Us is a book speaking with truth, and they will not be wronged. 62 Nay, but their hearts are in ignorance of this (Qur'an), and they have other works, besides, which they are doing; 63 until - after We shall have taken to task, through suffering, those from among them who [now] are lost in the pursuit of pleasures - they cry out in [belated] supplication. 64 "Do not supplicate for help today; you will not be rescued by Us; 65 My revelations were recited unto you, but ye used to turn back on your heels, 66 [and,] impelled by your arrogance, you would talk senselessly far into the night." 67 Have they, then, never tried to understand this word [of God]? Or has there [now] come to them something that never came to their forefathers of old? 68 Or did they not recognise their apostle, and rejected him? 69 or you said that he is possessed by satan? In fact, he has brought you the truth, but most of you dislike it. 70 And had the Truth followed their desires, then indeed the heavens and the earth and all those who are in them would be destroyed; in fact We brought to them a thing in which lay their repute, so they are turned away from their own repute. 71 Or do you, [O Muhammad], ask them for payment? But the reward of your Lord is best, and He is the best of providers. 72 Assuredly thou art calling them to a straight path; 73 but those who disbelieve the life hereafter deviate from the right path. 74 ۞ And if We show mercy to them and remove the distress they have, they would persist in their inordinacy, blindly wandering on. 75 Already We have seized them with the punishment, but they neither humbled themselves to their Lord, nor did they beseech Him, 76 Until, when We open for them the gate of severe punishment, then lo! They will be plunged into destruction with deep regrets, sorrows and in despair. 77
