O (you) Messengers! Eat of the Taiyibat [all kinds of Halal (legal) foods which Allah has made legal (meat of slaughtered eatable animals, milk products, fats, vegetables, fruits, etc.)], and do righteous deeds. Verily! I am Well-Acquainted with what you do. 51 Your religion is one and I am your Lord. Have fear of Me". 52 But they split in their affair between them into sects, each party rejoicing in what is with them. 53 So leave them to their ignorance for a time. 54 Do they think that what We extend to them of wealth and children 55 We are hastening to reward them for good deeds? No. They do not comprehend. 56 Those who tremble with fear of their Lord; 57 And those who believe in the signs of their Lord – 58 and those who associate naught with their Lord 59 who give, whatever they give in charity, with their hearts trembling at the thought that they are destined to return to their Lord; 60 It is these who race for the good deeds, and they are foremost in them [e.g. offering the compulsory Salat (prayers) in their (early) stated, fixed times and so on]. 61 We charge no soul with more than it can bear. We have a Book with Us which speaks the truth, and they shall not be wronged. 62 Yet their hearts are oblivious of this; and besides, they are busy with other things, 63 Until when We lay hold of the luxuriant ones of them with the torment, and lo! then they are imploring! 64 Do not cry out for help this day, for surely you shall not be helped by Us. 65 Time and again were My messages conveyed unto you, but [every time] you would turn about on your heels 66 “Priding yourself in serving the Sacred Mosque; at night you utter indecent stories in it, while discarding the truth.” 67 Have they not pondered over the word of God? Has something come to them that did not come to their forefathers? 68 Or did they not recognise their Messenger and so denied him? 69 Or do they say, 'He is bedevilled'? Nay, he has brought them the truth, but most of them are averse from the truth. 70 And if the truth had been in accordance with their desires, verily, the heavens and the earth, and whosoever is therein would have been corrupted! Nay, We have brought them their reminder, but they turn away from their reminder. 71 Or do you ask of them any tribute? In that case the tribute of your Lord is better, for He is the best of providers. 72 Indeed you are calling them to a Straight Path, 73 But indeed, those who do not believe in the Hereafter are deviating from the path. 74 ۞ If We had mercy on them and removed the distress which is on them, they would obstinately persist in their transgression, wandering in distraction to and fro. 75 And indeed We seized them with punishment, but they humbled not themselves to their Lord, nor did they invoke (Allah) with submission to Him. 76 until We opened upon them the door of a severe chastisement. Then lo, in this state they become utterly despaired of any good. 77
