Messengers! Partake of the things that are clean, and act righteously. I know well all that you do. 51 Your religion is but one religion -- and I am your only Lord, therefore, fear Me. 52 But they (mankind) have broken their religion among them into sects, each group rejoicing in its tenets. 53 Therefore leave them in their overwhelming ignorance till 54 Do they think that by increasing their wealth and children 55 We [but want to] make them vie with one another in doing [what they consider] good works? Nay, but they do not perceive [their error]! 56 Surely they who from fear of their Lord are cautious, 57 and those who believe in the signs of their Lord 58 and who do not ascribe divinity to aught but their Sustainer, 59 and those who give to others what has been bestowed upon them with their hearts trembling at the thought that they must return to their Lord; 60 It is these who hasten in every good work, and these who are foremost in them. 61 And We tax not any person except according to his capacity, and with Us is a Record which speaks the truth, and they will not be wronged. 62 But their hearts are in ignorance of this (Koran); and they have deeds besides that which they are doing. 63 Until when We seize their affluent ones with punishment, at once they are crying [to Allah] for help. 64 'Groan not today; surely you shall not be helped from Us. 65 My verses had already been recited to you, but you were turning back on your heels 66 Stiff-necked, discoursing thereof by night, reviling. 67 Have they not pondered the saying, or came there upon them that which came not upon their fathers, the ancients? 68 Or is it that they did not recognise their Noble Messenger, therefore they consider him alien? 69 or you said that he is possessed by satan? In fact, he has brought you the truth, but most of you dislike it. 70 If truth had followed their whims and desires, heavens and earth and all that lives in them would have been brought to ruin. Rather We have brought them their Reminder. Yet they keep avoiding their Reminder. 71 (Do they disbelieve because) you asked them for payment? The reward that you will receive from your Lord is the best. He is the best Provider. 72 You are surely calling them to the right path. 73 But those who do not believe in the Hereafter have indeed deviated from that path. 74 ۞ Even if We were to grant them mercy and rescue them from hardship, they would still blindly persist in their rebellion. 75 And indeed We seized them with punishment, but they humbled not themselves to their Lord, nor did they invoke (Allah) with submission to Him. 76 Until We open on them a gate leading to a severe Punishment: then Lo! they will be plunged in despair therein! 77
