The Statute Book (Al-Furqaan)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ Blessed is He Who sent down the Furqan upon His servant that he may be a warner to the nations; 1 to whom the Kingdom of the heavens and the earth belongs, who has not taken a son, nor does He have an associate in the Kingdom, and He created everything, then He ordained it very precisely. 2 And yet, some choose to worship, instead of Him, imaginary deities that cannot create anything but are themselves created, and have it not within their power to avert harm from, or bring benefit to, themselves, and have no power over death, nor over life, nor over resurrection! 3 And those who disbelieve say, "This [Qur'an] is not except a falsehood he invented, and another people assisted him in it." But they have committed an injustice and a lie. 4 And they say: The stories of the ancients-- he has got them written-- so these are read out to him morning and evening. 5 (Muhammad), tell them, "The One who knows all the secrets of the heavens and the earth has revealed it; He is All-forgiving and All-merciful." 6 They say, "What sort of a Messenger is he that he eats food and moves about in the streets? Why has not an angel been sent down to accompany him and threaten (the disbelievers)? 7 Why has a treasure not been laid out for him or a garden from which he could eat been given to him." The unjust ones say, "You are merely following a bewitched person". 8 Look how they strike for you comparisons; but they have strayed, so they cannot [find] a way. 9
