And when your Lord called to Moses, saying: 'Go to the harmdoing nation, 10 The people of Pharaoh. Will they not fear and take heed?" 11 Moses replied, "My Lord, I fear they will reject me, 12 and then my breast will be straitened and my tongue will not be free: send, then, [this Thy command] to Aaron. 13 As for me, they hold the charge of a crime against me. I fear they will put me to death." 14 He said: Nay, verily. So go ye twain with Our tokens. Lo! We shall be with you, Hearing. 15 "So go forth, both of you, to Pharaoh, and say: 'We have been sent by the Lord and Cherisher of the worlds; 16 Then send with us the children of Israel. 17 (The Pharaoh) said: "Did we not bring you up as a child? And you lived a number of years of your life with us. 18 And you did (that) deed of yours which you did, and you are one of the ungrateful. 19 (Moses) replied: "I did do that and I was in the wrong, 20 I fled from you because I feared you. But my Lord has given me judgment and made me one of the Messengers. 21 Is this then the blessing with which you reproach me, that you have the Children of Israel for worshipers' 22 The Pharaoh asked, "Who is the Lord of the Universe?" 23 Moses answered: "The Lord of the heavens and the earth and of all that is between them, if you were only to believe." 24 Pharaoh said to those around him, "Did you hear?" 25 Said Moosa, “Your Lord and the Lord of your forefathers preceding you.” 26 Pharaoh said to the audience: "This Messenger of yours who has been sent to you is simply mad." 27 Musa (Moses) said: "Lord of the east and the west, and all that is between them, if you did but understand!" 28 [Pharaoh] said, "If you take a god other than me, I will surely place you among those imprisoned." 29 He said: What! even if I bring to you something manifest? 30 Said he: Bring it then, if you are of the truthful ones. 31 He cast down his staff and thereupon it was a clear serpent. 32 Then he drew out his hand, and it was luminous to the onlookers. 33
