And when your Lord called out to Musa, saying: Go to the unjust people, 10 The folk of Pharaoh. Will they not ward off (evil)? 11 He said: "My Lord! Verily, I fear that they will belie me, 12 I feel nervous and my tongue is not fluent, so send Aaron with me. 13 And they have a crime against me, therefore I fear that they may slay me. 14 [Allah] said, "No. Go both of you with Our signs; indeed, We are with you, listening. 15 So go ye twain unto Fir'awn and say: verily we are the apostles of the Lord of the Worlds, 16 ‘That you let the Descendants of Israel go with us.’” 17 The Pharaoh said, "Did we not bring you up in our home as an infant and did you not live with us for many years 18 And thou didst that thy deed which thou didst, and thou wast one of the ingrates. 19 Moses replied: "I committed that act erringly. 20 “I therefore went away from you as I feared you – so my Lord commanded me and appointed me as one of the Noble Messengers.” 21 And [as for] that favour of which thou so tauntingly remindest me - [was it not] due to thy having enslaved the children of Israel?" 22 Fir'awn said: and what is the Lord of the worlds? 23 Moses said, "Lord of the heavens and the earth and all that is between them, if only you would be convinced." 24 The Pharaoh said to the people around him, "Did you hear that?" 25 Moses said: "(He is) Your Lord and the Lord of your forefathers of yore." 26 (Pharaoh) said: 'Surely, the Messenger who has been sent to you is mad!' 27 [But Moses] went on: "[He of whom I speak is] the Sustainer of the east and the west and of all that is between the two - as you would know]" if you would but use your reason!" 28 Said he, 'If thou takest a god other than me, I shall surely make thee one of the imprisoned.' 29 Said he: "Even if I should bring about before thee something that clearly shows the truth?" 30 Said he: Bring it then, if you are of the truthful ones. 31 So Moses threw down his staff and suddenly it appeared as a serpent, plainly visible. 32 And he drew out his hand, and behold, it was white to all beholders! 33
