۞ By inspiration we told Moses: "Travel by night with my servants; for surely ye shall be pursued." 52 And Pharaoh sent heralds unto all cities, 53 'Behold, these are a small troop, 54 who have enraged us greatly. 55 “And indeed we are an alert army.” 56 So We expelled them from gardens and fountains, 57 and their treasures and excellent dwellings. 58 Thus it was: but [in the course of time] We were to bestow all these [things] as a heritage on the children of Israel. 59 Then they followed them at the sunrise; 60 And when the two hosts came in view of each other, Moses' companions said: 'We have been reached' 61 Moses said, "Certainly not. My Lord is with me and He will certainly guide me." 62 Then We inspired Moses, saying: Smite the sea with thy staff. And it parted, and each part was as a mountain vast. 63 And We brought near thither the others. 64 We delivered Moses and every one with him, 65 Then drowned the others. 66 Surely in that there is a sign; yet most of them do not believe: 67 And verily thy Lord is He, the Exalted in Might, Most Merciful. 68
