And recite to them the news of Ibrahim. 69 When he said unto his father and his people: what worship ye? 70 They replied, "We worship idols and shall continue to worship them". 71 He said, 'Do they hear you when you call, 72 Or do they profit you or cause you harm? 73 They replied: 'No, but we found our fathers doing so' 74 He said: See now that which ye worship, 75 Ye and your fathers of old? 76 they are all my enemies, not so the Lord of the Universe, 77 Who hath created me, and He guideth me. 78 And He Who gives me to eat and gives me to drink: 79 And when I sicken, then He healeth me, 80 "And Who will cause me to die, and then will bring me to life (again); 81 And Who, I ardently hope, will forgive me my sin on the Day of Judgment. 82 “My Lord, bestow me the command and join me with those who deserve your proximity.” 83 give me a good name among later generations; 84 And place me among the inheritors of the Garden of Pleasure. 85 And forgive my father. Indeed, he has been of those astray. 86 Do not betray me 87 The day when wealth and sons avail not (any man) 88 Save him who bringeth unto Allah a whole heart. 89 And Paradise will be brought near [that Day] to the righteous. 90 And hell will appear plainly to the erring. 91 And it shall be said to them: Where are those that you used to worship; 92 Other than Allah? Can they help you or help themselves?" 93 Then they will be thrown headlong into Hell, both they and the misguided ones, 94 and Satan's legions, all together. 95 They shall say, as they dispute there one with another, 96 they will say, "By God, we were in clear error 97 when we considered you equal to the Lord of the Universe. 98 And none but the guilty led us astray; 99 “So now we do not have any intercessors.” (The believers shall have intercessors, the disbelievers none). 100 And not a devoted friend. 101 Oh, that we had another turn (on earth), that we might be of the believers! 102 Indeed in that is a sign, but most of them were not to be believers. 103 And most surely your Lord is the Mighty, the Merciful. 104
