The 'Aad belied the sent ones. 123 When their brother Hud said to them: Will you not guard (against evil)? 124 I am a trustworthy Messengers sent to you. 125 So keep your duty to Allah and obey me. 126 I do not ask for any payment for my preaching. I shall receive my reward from the Lord of the Universe. 127 "Do you build high palaces on every high place, while you do not live in them? 128 and raise strong mansions as if you were to live forever? 129 "And when you seize, seize you as tyrants? 130 "So fear Allah, keep your duty to Him, and obey me. 131 and fear Him who has succoured you with what you know, 132 He has given you flocks and sons, 133 And gardens and fountains; 134 indeed, I fear for you the torment of an awful day." 135 They replied: "It is all the same for us whether you admonish us or not. 136 “This is nothing but the tradition of former people.” 137 "And we are not the ones to receive Pains and Penalties!" 138 And they denied him, so We destroyed them. Indeed in that is a sign, but most of them were not to be believers. 139 Surely, your Lord is the Almighty, the Most Merciful. 140
