The Thamud belied the sent ones 141 When their brother Saleh said to them: "Will you not take heed?" 142 "I am a trustworthy Messenger to you. 143 So keep your duty to Allah and obey me. 144 I do not ask for any payment for my preaching. I shall receive my reward from the Lord of the Universe. 145 (Do you think) you will be left secure here 146 In gardens and fountains, 147 And tilled fields and heavy-sheathed palm-trees, 148 “And you carve out dwellings in the mountains, with skill?” 149 “Therefore fear Allah and obey me.” 150 Do not obey the orders of the transgressors 151 those who spread corruption in the land instead of putting things right." 152 They replied: 'Surely, you are one of those bewitched. 153 "Thou art no more than a mortal like us: then bring us a Sign, if thou tellest the truth!" 154 (Saleh) said: "Here is a she-camel. She has a right of drinking water, and you have a right of drinking it on appointed turns. 155 "Touch her not with harm, lest the Penalty of a Great Day seize you." 156 Yet they hamstrung her, and in the morning they were remorseful, 157 For they were seized by the torment. Verily there was a sign in this, but most of them did not believe. 158 And verily thy Lord! He is the Mighty, the Merciful. 159

Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
